Service Engineer & Mechanical fitter

Mahdi joined UNIMAQ as a Service Engineer & Mechanical fitter after building valuable experience in the 2-piece can industry in both Iran and Pakistan. Working as a Can Decorator Machine Engineer, he developed strong expertise in machine assembly, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer support.

His international experience, combined with a practical engineering mindset and passion for continuous improvement, enables him to support customers around the world in keeping their production lines running efficiently. Mahdi enjoys solving technical challenges and working closely with customers to ensure they achieve the highest levels of machine performance and reliability.

How did you get into can making?
My career began as a mechanical engineer, and I was fortunate to enter the can manufacturing industry early on. I quickly became interested in the technology behind can decorating machines and the precision required to keep them operating efficiently.

Before joining Unimaq, I worked in both Iran and Pakistan Can plants as a Can Decorator Machine Engineer. These roles gave me valuable experience in machine maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and supporting production teams. Working in different countries also helped me understand different ways of working while strengthening my technical and communication skills.

Each project taught me something new, and over the years I developed a real passion for helping customers solve technical problems and improve machine performance.

Joining Unimaq was an important milestone in my career. I had always respected the company's reputation for engineering excellence and customer support, so becoming part of the team was a great opportunity.

He believed in my abilities and helped me obtain a UK work visa, allowing me and my family to start a new chapter in our lives. Career Highlights
One of the greatest highlights of my career has been working in different countries and gaining experience with a wide variety of customers, production environments, and technical challenges.

Another major milestone has been joining Unimaq as a Service Engineer. Supporting customers around the world, helping install and commission equipment, resolving technical issues, and seeing machines perform successfully after our work is extremely rewarding.

Every successful service visit strengthens my experience and motivates me to continue learning and developing as an engineer.

How I See the 2-Piece Industry
The can manufacturing industry continues to evolve with new technologies, automation, and increasing expectations for efficiency and quality. I believe innovation will continue to improve machine performance while making production safer and more sustainable.

At the same time, experienced engineers and well-trained operators remain essential. Technology alone cannot replace practical knowledge and teamwork. Combining modern engineering solutions with strong technical support is the key to helping customers achieve long-term success.

Away from Work
Outside work, my family is my biggest priority. My wife and our two children live with me in the UK, and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible.

I am also a passionate runner and enjoy challenging myself through long-distance running. Running helps me stay disciplined, focused, and healthy, and it gives me the energy to perform at my best both professionally and personally.

Living and working in the UK has been a wonderful new chapter for my family, and I look forward to continuing my journey with Unimaq while supporting customers across the world.
